In fact, this is not a work of art that can be transformed into a haphazard table; nor is it a piece of furniture-design to be hung on the wall when not in use. It is either a painting or a table. Moreover, the table takes on a decisive aesthetic expression that turns it into a sculpture in its own right!
Apart from different models of this tavola/tavolo motif the artist developed a chair along similar lines.
